The M/Y Photo Journey

Cathy's private photo charter boat

Here is the boat, all re-fitted!! I have been on eight charters and lots of dive trips, including an overnight anchorage at Stingray City to watch them arrive after sunrise!

The 30-foot M/Y Photo Journey is an air-conditioned, floating classroom and dive boat for one photo instructor, one crew and up to two photo students/divers. With an on-board computer for viewing digital photos between dives, refrigerator, micro-wave and private head with shower, this comfortable boat has a broad range of uses.

The aft deck has tank racks for twelve tanks and a large fresh-water camera-rinse bucket. It travels comfortably at eight knots to nine knots.

The service

"The Service" will include:
• private photo instruction with Cathy on the boat and underwater,
• use of a complete digital camera system of your choice (Olympus compact SP350, or a Nikon D2x or D200 SLR with one or two strobes and one lens, transfer of photos to a CD) or use your own
• dive time limited only by your computer
• full diver and gear pick up at your door,
• gear set-up, tear down, rinse and repack, as many Nitrox or air tanks as you want.
• lunch on board and plenty of snacks and drinks.
• We can help you keep your food cold or served hot with cutlery and plates. We can hold your gear for multi-day charters so you don't have to lug it home each night. Depending on the weather, we can offer dives along the west side, north shore and the south side.

You can now enjoy the famous Cathy Church service exclusively for you. You may bring a second diver or rider with you.

The rates

Charter rates can be arranged along with private photo instruction for great savings. Instead of paying $125.00 an hour for Cathy, plus $1100 to $1700.00 for a normal crewed charter, we can offer you a full-service luxury charter at an introductory rate of only US$1200.00 (INCLUDING CATHY AND A CAMERA) for a half-day from 8 am to around 1 p.m. or noon to 5 p.m. (a $2025.00 value) or only $1650.00 for a full day, from 8 am to 5:00 pm (a $3142.00 value). If you are booking additional lesson time with Cathy, the half-day charter can start any time. We dive at your leisure--10 am, 11 a.m. whatever time you like.

In the future, the price might need to go up to more realistically reflect our costs. But for now, I just want to explore and teach and dive and offer my friends and students a really great deal on a wonderful product.
